Nation Ford High School is Marching to Macy’s

Posted by brickmarkersusa on April 13, 2011

Nation Ford High School is home of the Falcons

After winning a coveted spot in the 2011 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Nation Ford High School’s Marching Band is paving their way to Macy’s with a commemorative brick road.

The March to Macy’s Program is offering engraved bricks with personal messages that will be installed in a special walkway at Nation Ford High School.  The type of bricks will vary in size from 4×8” to 8×8” bricks.  Various clipart images are

available in addition to a personalized message.  Participants can also purchase a miniature replica of their original brick, bringing a piece of Nation Ford home.

All proceeds will be used to fund the students’ trip to perform on the televised NBC Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  The program is the perfect way for the Nation Ford community to leave a permanent mark on the school’s history.  It’s also a great opportunity for anyone to help make these talented kids’ dreams come true.

Nation Ford High School’s Marching Band will be one of 11 marching bands from across the country participating in the live-televised event on Nov. 24, 2011.

For more information about Nation Ford’s March to Macy’s, please contact Martin Dickey at dickeym@fort-mill.k12.sc.us.

3 Ways to Make Your Fundraiser a Success!

Posted by brickmarkersusa on April 5, 2011

Utilizing our patented Vitralase®/Vitrix® laser engraved bricks is a great way to immortalize your project, but before the installation can begin you need to get your community involved. Brick Markers® has encountered many ways to increase donations, and get your local area to really take notice of your project.  Below is a list of three of our favorite ways our clients have encouraged donations for their projects.

1. ADVERTISE: You’ve got to get the word out about your project!  There are a variety of ways to mass advertise.  Ask the local newspaper to print a free press release outlining your project.  Contact local utility companies to insert your flyer into utility bills.  A free engraved brick can be offered in appreciation.

2. BUILD A DONOR LIST:  The Chamber of Commerce can provide a list of names and addresses of businesses in your area.  Typically there is a fee associated with getting the list, or you may be required to become a member of the chamber. Contact the main office of local universities for a list of students, alumni and staff.

3. UTILIZE THE WEB:  Create a website for your project.  Inform visitors about your project and allow donors to purchase an engraved brick online.  Sending email blasts to members, contacts and businesses about your project and how they can get involved.  Social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter are also great ways to spark the interest of new donors, and keep those who’ve already donated up-to-date on the progress of you project.

The Plantation Reflection Garden in Georgia is a wonderful project that advertises its brick program on their website, and utilizes photographs to display the project’s progress.

Memories & Years of Support Immortalized at Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens

Posted by brickmarkersusa on March 22, 2011

Fun and excitement await any visitors to the Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens.  Sitting on the mouth of the Trout River, the zoo provides a gorgeous and engaging space to get to know wildlife in all their shapes and sizes.

In addition to the animal attractions and exhibits, the facility also has a variety of gardens to explore, child specific areas, and programs to enhance visits for families.

Originally opened in 1914 as the Municipal Zoo, it has grown into a nationally recognized zoo and premiere Jacksonville attraction.  Too keep the zoo running and providing memories of a lifetime, the Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens is constantly fundraising and looking for willing donors.

After working with them for 10 years, we at Brick Markers® are amazed to see the progress of their Zooloop, with hundreds of engraved bricks lining areas throughout the zoo grounds.

The Zooloop brick program is a great fundraising project for the zoo’s gorgeous grounds.  Anyone can purchase personalized engraved bricks to be installed at Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens, permanently leaving a mark on the zoo, and helping to fund amazing exhibits and projects.

Bricks can be engraved to honor loved ones, favorite animals, or just to say you support the zoo!  The choice is up to you, with all proceeds funding the Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens.  We at Brick Markers® have been amazed by the overwhelming support and excitement generated over the years by such a fantastic program.
