If your organization needs to raise funds, a brick fundraiser is a proven method of generating substantial revenue and requires minimal time and effort. Additionally, this type of fundraiser creates a permanent connection between the donors and the fundraising organization.
When creating a flyer, it is important to explain the reason for the project and how the money raised will help the community. The flyer should include a rendition to show where the engraved donor bricks will be installed and an order form. It is a good idea not to use the word “sale” within your flyer but rather to use the word “donation”.
Once you have created a flyer, the next step is to market your campaign. The Chamber of Commerce can provide you with a list of names and addresses of businesses in the City that you can use to build a donor list. Another suggestion is to contact the main office of local universities for a list of students, alumni and staff. Create a kiosk that displays custom engraved brick samples which will allow potential donors to see what they are purchasing. Create a website that will allow donors to purchase an engraved brick online. Ask the local newspaper to print a free press release outlining your project. Create posters to place throughout your organization and send email blasts to members, contacts and corporations.
When researching engraving companies, we strongly recommend that you visit project sites that have been installed for several years or more and see for yourself what methods of engraving withstand normal wear and tear and weather conditions. Furthermore, it is imperative that you choose an engraving company that will provide you with a written lifetime guarantee. It is essential that 100% of the revenue raised is allocated for your organization’s fundraising cause and not into replacing any bricks that do not meet the standards of your committee and donors. The overall longevity and appearance of your brick/tile area will determine how successful your campaign will be.

Brick Markers USA
Some have called this the “century of the environment”. Individuals and companies can no longer assume that societal challenges such as pollution, dwindling natural resources and climate change can be ignored and reserved for future generations to contend with.
This dawning era of innovation and creativity in “green technology” is bringing the promise of a healthier planet and the prospect of growing businesses that can help to sustain its health. Brick Markers® is focused on sustainability (meeting the needs of society in manners that can continue indefinitely into the future without damaging or depleting natural resources). Our patented laser engraving and its color are both a result of 100% natural inorganic earth element materials and use no solvents, paints, plastics or VOCs (volatile organic compounds). This is the ultimate in “green technology” and we are happy to do our part in sustaining the environment.
Additionally, as one of the oldest, continuously used building materials in the world, clay brick’s unsurpassed life cycle, exceptional energy efficiency, natural ingredients, minimal waste, and countless recycling options are just a few of the properties that make brick the superb sustainable material it has been for thousands of years.
Over the past thirty years the manufacturing of bricks has improved dramatically, contributing to the inherent sustainability of the product. Manufacturing plants have been re-engineered to make use of highly efficient tunnel kilns, fired using natural gas, and all waste heat and clay is recycled within the plant. Many plants also collect all the water they use.

Bill the Chimpanzee
Bill the Chimpanzee was a resident at the Sequoia Park Zoo for fifty years and one of the oldest chimpanzees in captivity. He was at least sixty-two years old when he passed away from an age related illness in June of 2007.
His companion Ziggy passed away in 1996 however after Ziggy’s death, Bill showed no depression but instead responded enthusiastically to the added attention. He enjoyed interacting with his visitors and acknowledged them with a wave or a nod.
Bill clearly preferred the companionship of his human keepers and his many visitors. Over the years he had been a loyal friend to many. Bill’s former exhibit has been converted into a tribute garden in honor of Bill and Ziggy.
The garden features two fountains where their night quarters once were and a bronze statue of Bill stands between them along with his rope swing above. The paths of the garden are lined with bricks inscribed with special messages to Bill and Ziggy and to other loved ones within the community and Bill’s ashes were placed under the engraved bricks.
On the walls are the stories and photographs of the lives of these remarkable chimpanzees as well as the 100-year history of the Sequoia Park Zoo. Bill’s Garden is a special corner of the zoo where patrons reflect, reminisce and appreciate the story of these two animals who shared their lives with the community.
The personalized bricks help express what an important part of the zoo they were and how much they are missed. Brick Markers® is honored that we were given the opportunity to provide the engraved bricks found in Bill’s Garden.

A number of years ago, I spoke to a prospective client that was in the process of selecting a vendor for a commemorative brick and tile program. I called to check on the status of the selection process and was updated on findings from site visits to various vendor installations. He mentioned that at the beginning of the selection process he thought, “a brick is a brick”. But as his evaluation unfolded he found that this was not true. He observed great differences among engraved bricks, especially with respect to the quality and durability of the engraving.
He mentioned one particular site that really left an impression. The site was a major professional sports venue that featured engraved bricks with epoxy filler. The bricks were cracked and broken. Epoxy filler was fading, peeling or missing. Consequently, contrast between the lettering and bricks was poor and the inscriptions were becoming increasingly illegible. In short, he thought that the site was a visual nightmare. As a matter of fact, a member of his selection committee said, “This is terrible; why did you bring us here?” The prospective client replied that the site was recommended by the vendor.
Despite all of the visual shortcomings of the installation, he was surprised to find a high level of satisfaction by the venue. The only conclusion he could draw was that, “You don’t know what you don’t know”. He observed that this venue must not have done its homework during the vendor selection process. Apparently, the venue was not aware of the superior image quality and durability afforded by laser engraving. Since the venue seemed totally unaware, it was very satisfied with an obviously inferior installation. The venue simply was in the dark. As the saying goes, “Ignorance is bliss”.

Brick Marker’s patented laser engraving processes (Vitralase® and Vitrix®) are superior within the engraving industry. Our state-of-the-art processes use a high-powered laser system that directs a continuous flow of intensive laser energy to vitrify the image on the brick or tile. The laser engraving process converts the engraved portion of the existing clay product into a hardened glass by the process of vitrification. Hence the engraving and brick product are still of one substrate. Consequently, the engraving is not subject to fading, chipping, peeling or separation from the brick or tile. It is a permanent and maintenance free mark.
The hardened glass engraving and its color are both a result of 100% natural inorganic earth element materials. This is the ultimate in “Green” technology. No solvents, paints, plastics or VOCs (volatile organic compounds) are used in our processes. The indelible engraving is actually harder than the brick itself. Clay brick and glass are substances that have proved to stand the test of time!
Brick Markers® laser engraving offers a level of quality and detail not attainable through traditional techniques such as mechanical engraving or sandblasting. In the end you want your brick campaign to be successful and maintenance free and you want your donors to have the assurance of knowing that their bricks will last a lifetime. The overall longevity and appearance of your brick/tile area will determine how successful your campaign will be.
Brick Markers® warrants, through its written Lifetime Warranty, that its patented Vitralase®/Vitrix® vitrification processes will be of good quality and workmanship and will not fade, chip, oxidize, peel or separate from the brick, paver or tile for the life of the engraved brick, paver or tile. You can have all of the benefits of laser engraving at a price that is competitive with obsolete engraving technologies.
Brick Markers® ability to provide custom engraving is endless. Brick Markers® is capable of producing nearly any graphic image required (e.g. team logo, signatures, corporate logos, etc.) We can program custom logos for corporate level sponsors, clipart and center piece arrays for your project. Additionally, we can provide any letter style of your choice.
Choosing Brick Markers® as your brick engraving company means you have chosen a company committed to providing the finest quality products and valuable innovative fund raising and marketing ideas. Our experienced and devoted team of professionals is dedicated to continuing this tradition and we offer the most competent customer service support in the industry.
