Tucker High School

Tucker High School in Atlanta, Georgia was founded in the early 1900’s as a three-room schoolhouse.  Tucker High is now an urban school with over 35 different ethnic groups represented among some 1,400 students.  The school is known for maintaining a challenging curriculum that includes the prestigious International Baccalaureate Program and 16 advanced placement classes.  Each year Tucker High seniors earn between $5-10 million in scholarships, with 95% attending post-graduate schools.  This year the school was named “The Most Improved Public High School” by the DeKalb County School System.  Tucker High also has a long-standing reputation for outstanding athletics.  Many notable scholars, politicians, professionals, athletes, celebrities and productive citizens have walked the halls of Tucker High.  It continues to be the school’s mission to provide an atmosphere that allows students to flourish and achieve their dreams.  To keep this tradition of excellence alive, it takes constant commitment and the support of the THS Community.  The needs of THS’ students and faculty are constantly changing.  The PTSA serves to provide support to the students, staff and parents within the school community.  Funding for many programs, improvements and materials are provided by the PTSA.  THS is doing a grounds improvement project that allows past, current and future alumni to show their commitment to their alma mater and generate needed capital for new programs and enhancements.  This project will also complement their new state-of-the-art facility and preserve the memorial of the original William Venable Gymnasium.  If you would like to donate and show your support by purchasing a custom engraved brick, please visit http://www.dekalb.k12.ga.us/tucker/ and click on the brick for an order form.  The school is offering 4×8 and 8×8 bricks as well as miniature brick replicas.
